Presentation/workshop with Reverend Smash, United Church of Christ ordained pastor, teacher, and organizer who led a faith-rooted movement of resistance to white supremacist violence in Charlottesville, VA
Anti-Racism for White Folks
White privilege and power are captured through systemic racism. To be anti-racist, we must first understand how structural racism is constructed by the self-interest of white people, and then defended through the creation of racist ideas and beliefs. When we can identify the racist policies, laws, regulations, and rules that govern our society, we can begin to challenge them. Join Reverend Smash, a United Church of Christ ordained pastor, teacher, and organizer from Chicago, as she helps us explore the ways we have been formed by the white dominant culture so that we can strive for honesty and accountability.
