Thrivers: Why Some Kids Struggle and Others Shine
The Glenbard Parent Series: (GPS) Navigating Healthy Families will present a book launch for Thrivers with educational psychologist Michele Borba at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 14.
Questions may be submitted to gilda_ross@glenbard.org prior to the event.
How can we help our children flourish in this often uncertain world? Here is the science on resilience from experts in the field and hundreds of interviews (with some local) students. Learn the seven character traits that set Thrivers apart and the practical, actionable ways to develop these traits in children from preschool through high school. We can teach these strategies to set kids up for optimism with stress management / coping skills, to build the motivation to thrive now and in the future.
Borba is the author of 24 books for parents and educators, including the bestseller, UnSelfie. She is an internationally recognized expert in parenting, empathy, social emotional learning, character development, bullying and resilience.
