Artfully Facing Trauma
The Evanston Art Center (EAC) is excited to welcome the public to our upcoming exhibition, Artfully Facing Trauma, featuring work by artists in the Road Home Program. The exhibition will be on display from August 30- September 17, 2023, and will be free and open to the public.
Artfully Facing Trauma is a group show of artists within the Road Home Program. Art therapy is an integral component of Rush University Medical Center’s Road Home Program Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Veterans diagnosed with PTSD travel from all over the US to attend the two-week program and receive a variety of health services that target the root cause of PTSD and help individuals learn to manage and even eliminate symptoms. Treatments veterans receive include individual Cognitive Processing Therapy, group therapy, mindfulness and mindful movement instruction, cognitive health training, and art therapy.
