FREE CE WEBINAR: Substance Use Interventions Across the Treatment Continuum for Adolescents and Adults
Nearly half of us know someone with substance issues in our lives, but when does substance misuse become a substance use disorder and what can be done about it? Substance misuse has existed throughout human history, and treatment has been evolving for hundreds of years. There is current research demonstrating the prevalence of substance use disorders across varying age groups. In America, we have developed a medical-model intervention for the treatment of substance use disorders ranging in frequency, intensity, and severity of medical and therapeutic support. The presentation will briefly review the various levels of care for the treatment of substance use disorders, discuss current rates of substance use, understand how to differentiate between primary and secondary diagnoses of substance use disorders, and current modalities for evidenced-based treatment.
Participants will learn:
Key takeaways:
– Discuss case study to determine appropriate level of care intervention
– Overview of the current treatment model for substance use disorders
– Current rates and statistics on substance use
– Identifying co-occurring disorders
– Utilizing evidenced-based interventions for effective treatment
