The Kingdom of the Poor: a free Public Affairs program
In the months before he died in August 2023, Nashville priest Father Charles Strobel wanted to document the stories of unconditional and nonjudgmental love he’d told most of his life. These simple tales comprise Strobel’s posthumous memoir The Kingdom of the Poor: My Journey Home, which comes highly recommended by writer Ann Patchett, who wrote the introduction and described The Kingdom as “a manual for how to be a decent person” on Today with Jenna and Hoda. Strobel’s niece and book editor Katie Seigenthaler will appear in conversation with the Rev. Christine V. Hides at Kenilworth Union Church to discuss his book, life, and work.
