As deputy chief of U.S. news at The Wall Street Journal in New York, Ashby Jones helps manage a team of about 50 reporters and editors throughout the country who cover a wide variety of topics, from real estate to immigration to education and white-collar crime. Mr. Jones ran the law bureau at the Journal from 2016 to last year, and he helped lead a series of stories on hush-money payments connected to Donald Trump that won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize in national reporting. He holds degrees from Haverford College and the University of Michigan Law School.
