David Schreiber, MD, is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist and the CEO and co-founder of Compass Health Center and Compass Virtual. Alongside co-founder Claudia Welke, MD, he has led the development of an innovative, evidence-based model of in-person and virtual Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) care.

Founded in 2011 with a team of 11, Compass Health Center has grown to more than 800 professionals, including over 500 clinicians and 60 psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners. Today, Compass offers more than 50 specialized programs serving children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. The organization is dedicated to creating safe, compassionate treatment environments that expand access to care and help individuals avoid higher levels of intervention such as emergency room visits or inpatient hospitalization, leading to improved outcomes.

Dr. Schreiber earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completed his adult psychiatry residency at Yale University School of Medicine, and his child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He has received numerous professional distinctions and frequently serves as a mental health expert in national media, including CBS and NewsNation Now.

Compass Health Center provides in-person and virtual services across Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, with additional virtual care available in Washington, DC, and Virginia.
