Jonathan Haidt, Ph.D.

Jonathan Haidt, Ph.D., is the Thomas Cooley Professor of Ethical Leadership at New York University’s Stern School of Business and the New York Times bestselling author of The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood Is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness, named a book of the year by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Bill Gates, among others. His earlier bestsellers include The Righteous Mind and The Coddling of the American Mind (with Greg Lukianoff, FAN ’18), and he is the founder of the After Babel Substack. He has co-founded several organizations that apply moral and social psychology to public life, including Heterodox Academy, the Constructive Dialogue Institute, and Let Grow, and now leads the TAG Movement to restore a healthier, play-based childhood.

Haidt received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and taught for 16 years at the University of Virginia. In 2019 he was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
