Assistant curator and project manager at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles
Lisa Doi, Ph.D., is an assistant curator and project manager at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles, where she leads a multi-year effort to redevelop the museum’s permanent exhibition documenting the history of the Japanese American community from 1860 to the present. She recently completed a Ph.D. in American Studies at Indiana University, with a dissertation examining how Japanese American communities have memorialized wartime incarceration. Doi also serves as a board member and past president of both the Chicago Japanese American Citizens League and Tsuru for Solidarity, two Japanese American civil rights organizations.
Doi is a North Shore Country Day School alumna (’09) and trustee.
