Meredith Elkins, Ph.D.
Clinical psychologist, faculty member of Harvard Medical School, and co–program director, McLean Anxiety Mastery Program, McLean Hospital
Meredith Elkins, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist whose work focuses on the research and treatment of anxiety and related disorders in children and families. She is a faculty member at Harvard Medical School and serves as co–program director of the McLean Anxiety Mastery Program (MAMP) at McLean Hospital, an intensive outpatient program dedicated to helping youth and families manage anxiety disorders.
Dr. Elkins’s clinical and research interests center on helping children build resilience and emotional flexibility while supporting parents in responding to anxiety with clarity, compassion, and appropriate boundaries. Drawing on both evidence-based practice and lived experience as a parent, she works to demystify anxiety and challenge common misconceptions about so-called “negative” emotions such as fear, sadness, and guilt.
Dr. Elkins is a frequent contributor to public conversations about child and family mental health, and her work has been featured in The Boston Globe, The Wall Street Journal, Parents, and Harvard Gazette. Her 2026 book is Parenting Anxiety: Breaking the Cycle of Worry and Raising Resilient Kids.
