Since joining D70, Jenkins has guided the district through the implementation of a strategic plan and the introduction of a refreshed mission and vision reflecting commitments to innovation, belonging, and excellence. Guided by the principle of “Learning Together,” she works closely with administrators and teachers to strengthen classroom practice and support engaging, equitable instruction that prepares students for the future.
Jenkins’ leadership extends beyond Libertyville. She was recently featured in School CEO, a national publication highlighting innovative school leadership, for her work amplifying student voice in district decision-making. She has presented on leadership at the National Conference on Education hosted by the American Association of School Administrators; the PowerTrip conference for women in education; the Illinois Association for Superintendents; and the ASU+GSV Summit, a global convening of leaders in education, technology, and workforce development. Jenkins also serves on the advisory board for the National Superintendent Roundtable and is a 2024 Google Superintendent Fellow.
