Illinois Firearms Restraining Order (FRO): Do You Know What This Is? Learn About It and How it Will Help Make Our Communities Safer
This is an educational/informational event, presented by the League of Women Voters Winnetka-Northfield-Kenilworth, about the new Illinois law that allows a family/household member or local law enforcement to petition for a court order to temporarily remove firearms from an individual exhibiting risky behavior. This program will inform the public about the law and steps to take to file for a court order. It will highlight how the Order has the potential to reduce gun-related suicides and domestic violence incidents.
