Intersectional and Ideological Impasses in Treatment
This presentation has two parts. First, it will focus on intersectional impasses in the therapeutic encounter based on race, gender, and sexual orientation. Second, it will focus on ideological and political ruptures that occur in psychotherapy. Cases are drawn from the presenter’s practice and her recent research study on ideological differences in treatment.
