Join us for an evening with Dr. Ana Gil Garcia, an esteemed community leader and advocate for equity. Dr. Gil Garcia, a professor Emerita and renowned Fulbright Scholar, has supported numerous school leaders in Chicago and nationally.
Dr. Gil Garcia will present the pressing challenges faced by newcomers in the US and Midwest amidst the current socio-political climate. Her insights will be particularly relevant to educators, school leaders, community advocates, and anyone interested in supporting newcomers in schools.
She will delve into the schoolwide and instructional supports necessary to aid students who are newcomers, as well as strategies for leveraging broader community resources effectively.
Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A session during which attendees can interact directly with Dr. Gil Garcia.
