The future doesn’t just happen. It’s a choice that we can and must help determine. But as our deeply divided nation reels from converging crises and seemingly intractable discord, where do we begin when the stakes are unfathomably high?

With multiple possible futures before us, Americans need to understand the specific consequences of our immediate choices, seize the opportunity to renew the nation’s promise, and set the stage to benefit current and future generations. Fortunately, humanity is resilient. Over the centuries, we have seen leaders rise to the occasion and steer countries and institutions from breakdowns to breakthroughs. If we chart our course correctly, we can emerge from our current troubles with a brighter future in reach of all Americans.

In his new book Roadmap to a Brighter Future: Reimagining and Realizing America’s Possibilities, Paul A. Laudicina, chairman emeritus of Kearney, one of the world’s largest strategy consulting firms, lays out four vastly different visions for America’s future. He makes clear that the best version of America will only come about if the correct actions are taken now and outlines the ten steps needed to decisively tackle our most pervasive problems and address critical priorities.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Laudicina served as then-Senator Joe Biden’s legislative director, and as founder of the policy division of SRI International (the former Stanford Research Institute). He is also the author of several books, as well as a CEO coach working with Korn Ferry, the world’s leading executive search, human resources, and leadership development firm. Consulting magazine, which regularly named Mr. Laudicina to its ranking of the Top 25 most influential consultants, awarded him its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019, the profession’s highest honor.

Mr. Laudicina will be in conversation with Nicole Isaac, strategic director of the International Strategic Response team at Meta. Previously, Ms. Isaac was senior director of North America Policy at LinkedIn where she managed a team that engaged with local, state, provincial and federal policymakers. She also founded Code the Streets, a social impact accelerator to increase resources to inner city communities through technology. Ms. Isaac previously served in the White House as Special Assistant to President Barack Obama, Office of Legislative Affairs, and as Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs for then-Vice President Biden.

Ms. Isaac spent over five years on Capitol Hill where she worked as Floor Counsel in the U.S. Senate and Legislative Counsel in the U.S. House of Representatives. She is a lawyer and previously clerked at the Constitutional Court of South Africa for the Deputy Chief Justice. She also worked at a law firm in Paris and with a non-governmental organization in Geneva.

This event suitable for youth 12+. It will be recorded and available on our website and YouTube channel.
