Having a gifted child is more than just A’s on report cards. Gifted children often struggle with things because they are gifted. They are simply out of step with their peers and this can cause difficulties. Parents can help – come learn more about giftedness and how you can help your child thrive!
Join us for Gifted 101: an exploration of the characteristics of giftedness, and how they shape the learning needs of gifted children. Our speaker is Amanda Davey, administrator at Quest Academy – a school mission-driven to serve the needs of gifted children – with over 15 years of experience in gifted education. Amanda is regularly invited to speak on topics related to gifted education and has recently presented on behalf of or in collaboration with organizations such as Illinois Association for Gifted Children and Chicago Gifted Community Center. Her audiences have included gifted educators, pre-service teachers, parents, students, and the Illinois Association of School Boards. Amanda possesses an MA in Gifted Education from Northeastern Illinois University, an MA in Organizational Leadership from Lewis University, and a BA in Psychology (emphasis adolescence) from Judson University.
